Romania
Romania is a world unto its own. I lived and married in Romania; every day in Romania feels like a year of life. For almost 3 years, I volunteered for New Horizons, a non-profit in a small coal-mining town. New Horizon’s main objective was fighting corruption through experiential and adventure education and service-learning clubs throughout Romania. My role for New Horizons was to lead the summer adventure program, Viata, in the mountains above our little town. Each summer I also oversaw 2 international community service projects in our town with 5 participating countries and over 120 participants.
